Jennifer Esposito left NCIS after just one season, marking the shortest tenure of any series regular on the long-running police procedural. Her character, Special Agent Alex Quinn, was introduced in Season 14 as a former field agent turned trainer at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center who was brought back into the fold by Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
Despite being involved in significant storylines, including a tragic backstory involving her former partner’s death, Quinn’s story concluded abruptly in the Season 15 premiere when it was revealed she left to care for her mother with Alzheimer’s. The decision for Esposito’s departure came from NCIS producers, who wanted to take the show in a new creative direction. Esposito, who was previously known for her role in Blue Bloods, has since pursued other exciting projects, including appearances in The Boys and a return to Blue Bloods.
