NCIS star Sean Murray recently shared that a scene from a Season 2 episode left him with a permanent injury, limiting mobility in his right thumb after slipping and falling during a car wash chase sequence.
Despite the injury, Murray, who has been with the show since 2003, has enjoyed watching his character Timothy McGee evolve over the years, making the long tenure feel fresh and engaging. The show has also become a family affair, with Murray’s daughter Cay making an appearance, an experience that made him proud.
As the NCIS franchise celebrated its 1,000th episode, Murray reflected on the dynamic storytelling that has allowed characters to age and evolve naturally. His journey to becoming a series regular was notable, aided by his stepfather, NCIS creator Donald Bellisario, who initially offered him a guest role that grew into a permanent spot, making Murray the longest-serving cast member.
